Autumn Gathering 2023

Around this time of year, there are many asian holidays to celebrate and appreciate. There is 中秋节, or Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, and 추석 in Korean culture, as well as Japanese 月見.

On September 23rd, the Asian Heritage Association (AHA) hosted an autumn gathering to mark these occassions and to celebrate some exciting developements for AHA.

AHA Became a Nonprofit

This month AHA officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!

This allows us to make long terms plans for bringing cultural events to the community and preserving the Chinese historic basement site in McMinnville.

Board President Jade Henness and Board Member Jean Thompson (top left) host this autumn gathering with fellow Board Members Ariadne Will and Peter Vu (center) and Board Secretary Jill Mann (center right), along with other members of our community.

We are thankful for the leadership of our Board Secretary, Jill Mann, in this endeavor! The Asian Heritage Association is lucky to have so many great community members involved and we cannot wait to bring the next Lunar New Year Celebration to Yamhill County!
