LNYC 2023!
Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork
In the fall of 2022, our group had barely decided on calling ourselves the Asian Heritage Association, and we were already talking about hosting a Lunar New Year event for the community. At the time, we had no idea that nearly 1,000 people would end up attending our inaugural Lunar New Year Celebration!
Our nine person planning team got to work that fall and by the time LNY 2023 came around, we’d amassed a team of over 30 volunteers who ended up putting in over 1,200 hours! We also secured a grant and over 20 sponsors to help cover the costs of decorations, food, entertainment, signage, marketing, you name it!
It really took a community coming together to put this event on and we could not be more proud! We are especially grateful to the numerous sponsors, vendors, volunteers and performers who showed up to make this such a gorgeous and lively event.
Some highlights:
Lunar New Year is an incredibly special holiday for many different cultures and religious groups across the globe. In the future, we hope more ethnic groups will get involved and share their Lunar New Year traditions at this event.
Thank you to our sponsors!
We’re incredibly thankful for these community partners who made this event possible!
