On Saturday, January 18, Jade Henness of the Asian Heritage Association came to the Yamhill Valley Heritage Center to talk about Chinese laundry enterprises in the early history of Yamhill County.

In the late 1800s, every town in Yamhill County had a Chinese owned laundry. Some had two or three. This presentation will explore the significance of these early Chinese enterprises in Yamhill County and their rise and fall as a microcosm of national issues of race, politics and immigration.
